Some ink exercises I've been doing in life drawing class (we've been set a lot of reclining poses lately). The bottom left one I scanned and coloured on my iPad, to see what it would be like.

these look great. To me there's something off on the woman's breast, but I wasn't there, so it's kind of hard to judge. you look like you control your ink very well, and I like the Tempera Shading. I don't have much to say, exept that I really like this realistic illustration style, Not that your regular style isn't great or appealing, but this reminds me of french bandes dessinés, kind of like Moebious or Hergé's Plume Leger style.
Also, the color looks great, what software did you use to do it?

Sorry I kind of commented when I really intended to critique, dumb mistake.

Thanks for your detailed critique!
What do you mean by Tempera shading?

I've been trying to move more towards a realistic style, which is ultimately the style I want for the comic projects I'm working towards at the moment (hampered slightly by the fact that the characters are becoming *less* realistic!). Thanks for introducing me to Moebious - that stuff's really cool!

I used Sketchbook Pro on the iPad for colouring - it's pretty much how I do any digital colouring that doesn't require huge resolution or special photoshop functions now.

Thanks again for you comment :thanks:

shading with parallel lines is called Tempera shading because in the olden times, when paint was egg-based, and called tempera, that was how you had to make the shading, since the paint wasn't quite greasy enough to "Stain" the canvas or the wall.

and you're welcome. I'm glad you liked moebious, it's such a shame he died.
